No, you do not need a ballet barre to do Barre Definition workouts.
While a barre can be a fun upgrade, it’s not required at all. You can easily use:
A sturdy chair
A kitchen countertop
A wall
The back of a couch
A railing or bed frame
Anything stable that’s about hip-height and won’t slide works great for balance and support.
Most members start with what they already have at home—and many never buy a barre at all.
Tip: If you do use a chair or counter, make sure it’s solid and won’t tip or move when you lean into it.
